First Helper Found For ‘College Dreams’ Project

It’s not often that you get an immediate response to a call for help.

OK, it’s very rare.

But, we’re happy to report that the recent story on our aim to expose the talented teens in the Hubbard Street Band to the college experience got a rapid response.

Shortly after the blog went up talking about how many of the band members now had a dream to go to college, following a two-day trip to Butler College in Indianapolis last year, we got this kind offer of help from Bob Blazek, VP of Commercial Banking – Middle East at Citibank.

“I would like to assist in future projects. If I had information on estimates as to the costs to send a group to an Illinois state university I will seek assistance by Citibank to support.”

We’d just like to throw a big thanks out there to Bob who has been in contact with us again and we are hoping it will lead to some much needed help in our College Dreams project.

Again, if there’s anyone else out there looking to help get more kids thinking about trading up from high school to college, let us know here.
